In the beginning, I built drums using a hollow log, a hammer, and a chisel.
Throughout the years I've met countless artist who have inspired me and have redirected the evolution of what is now Busto Drums.  Finding a niche has proven to be the biggest challenge.  Teaching people how to make and play drums has been one of the most gratifying.  Seeing one of my drums at a drumcircle, or watching my kids bang away like they've been drumming for years is where it's at for me.

When the hollow log drums started to sell I knew I was onto something.  Taking bits and pieces of information gathered from friends and family, I engineered most of the jigs that still help me in the drum-building process today.  Starting with drums made with 9 pieces of wood, and now with single drums with up to 4927 pieces of wood, has shown me the true extremes of what wood can do.  Today, I have a method that has proven itself to be strong and effective.  It combines beauty with a great sounding drum that will last for decades.  I have developed drums that can cater to a wide audience, basic and inexpensive, also wild and exotic drums that can cost a small fortune.  One thing is for sure, you will get a quality instument that you can pass down though the generations.
Thanks to all my friends and family that have inspired me and believed in me throughout this process.
